Noor — Privacy Policy

Noor ("the app", "we") is a daily prayer-habit app. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: Noor has no account and stores your data on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share personal data.

1. Information we store on your device

The app saves the following only on your device (it is never uploaded to us, because we have no server or account system):

• Your prayer check-offs, streak, and make-up (qada) records
• Your reading bookmarks and reading-plan progress
• Your chosen city and settings (calculation method, reminders, theme)

You can clear all of it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

2. Network requests the app makes

Noor works offline for prayer times. It contacts third parties only for the following, and only sends what is necessary:

• Quran text, translation and recitation audio — requested from the Quran.Foundation Content API and its audio CDN. Only chapter/verse identifiers are sent; no personal information is transmitted.
• Prayer times — calculated on your device by default (nothing is sent). Only if you turn on "Use online times (AlAdhan)" in Settings does the app send your selected city's approximate coordinates to the AlAdhan API (api.aladhan.com) to return times. This setting is optional and off by default.

3. Permissions

• Notifications — used to remind you of prayer times. Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally on your device.
• Location (iOS) — the Qibla compass uses your device's heading sensor on-device only. Noor does not use GPS to determine prayer times; you choose your city from a list.

4. What we do not do

• We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or contacts.
• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising in this version.
• We do not sell or share your personal data.

5. Children

Noor is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at this URL.
